Traditional Cold Process Soap

A bar of handcrafted soap is kind to skin, natural, and versatile, you can even wash your hair with it! Using the "cold process" method thay combine Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, and Cocoa Butter as ther soap base to which thay add fragrances and essential oils, herbs and spices. Before it reaches us there soaps are poured in block form, left overnight to set, sliced into hand size bars, trimmed and then left to cure for three weeks until they are ready for sale. The curing allows the "saponification process" to continue, afterwards they are attractively packaged in wrappers that allow them to breathe and remain in tip top condition.

Sheltie Sunshine

We definitely need as much Sheltie Sunshine as we can get! But, often as not we're a bit clouded over and on these days a quick sniff of soap can lift the spirits and remind us of summer. Crofter's (100% natural)

Because of the effects of wear and tear on the skin caused by outdor work in Shetland, thay wanted to create a soap that contained a fresh, invigorating scent and provided healing, therapeutic benefits to generous amounts of three essential oils, Lavender, Rosemary, and Lemongrass, to sooth, heal and cleanse, Rosemary for antiseptic protection and astringent properties and Lemongrass to keep away the midgies!

Glycerine Soap

These trendy, fun soaps are highly moisturising and create a real fashion statement in your bathroom. The rich fragrances are long lasting, making it a pure pleasure to use, finding that the glycerine leaves a subtle moisturising layer on the skin, so is great to use in the shower too! North Atlantic Glycerine Soap

The sea around Shetland is crystal clear and strikingly blue on a sunny day. With this as inspiration this beautiful blue soap was created, flecked with shreds of white traditional soap like the fome on a wave and fragranced it with the combination of Eucalyptus and Peppermint essential oils to give this product the fresh smell of sea air. Additionally the soap has herbal therapy benefits, Peppermint is cooling and helpful to itchy skin conditions and is particulary good for greasy skin, Eucalyptus is soothing and antiseptic. Contains vegetable glycerine.

Creams

Handmade in small batches using ther own special recipe these highly effective skin balms are almost 100% natural. Toa base of pure exotic butters and oils thay combine aloe vera gel, and a selection of 14 tinctures to produce rich concentrated products that leave your skin healed and unusually hydrated. It is the aloe gel that helps the therapeutic and poisturising properties of the cream penetrate the skin faster and more deeply than most conventional moisturisers which usually contain a high proportion of water and synthetic ingredients. Additionally aloe vera is also a natural sunscreen and the resipe contains approximately 1/3 aloe gel.

Up Helly Aa Torch Bearer's Hand Cream

At the end of January about 1,000 Shetland men take part in our fire festival, Up Helly AA. Each carries a large wooden flaming torch and joins the procession which takes place whatever the weather. Imspired by our modern Vikings we took our special recipe and fragranced it with Musk, Cinnamon and Lemon, to soothe battered skin and restore elasticity. Created for men, but loved by women!

Shetland Rescue Cream

When you live in a wet and windy place your skin needs a little extra protection. This gentle soothing, antiseptic and healing formula contains tea tree and eucalyptus essential oils and will help treat skin problems such as SUN and WINDBURN, CRACKED or CHAPPED SKIN, INSECT BITES, MINOR CUTS, BURNS, RASHES or ECZEMA, and even FUNGAL infections. Bubbles for the boozy Viking! This is a product inspired by our world famous fire festival held on the last Tusday of January every year.
