South America
Central and Latin America provide a wealth of coffee for consumption around the world. Each country in this territory provides different and exceptional conditions for coffee production. The Central American countries are vulnerable to hurricanes and severe weather systems whereas Colombia has a relatively safe environment for the trees to grow and Brazil is the largest coffee producer in the world providing one third of all coffee grown worldwide. Coffees produced in this region are distinguished by their light body, simple sharp acidity with bright flavours and crisp finish.
Brazitian Santos
Grown in the San Paulo region. The name 'Santos' comes from the port from which the coffee and most of the Braziian coffee is shipped. The coffee has a specific but natural, individual flavour. It is smooth, clear and slightly sweet (especially in the afteraste). The flavour is medium bodied, dominated by an earthiness, characteristic to dry processed coffees.

Rainforest Alliance Guatemala
Almost all Guatemalan coffee remains shade-grown: much still comes from traditional varieties of Arabica. Almost all of its still wet-processed using traditional methods and cleaned by hand. In severe weather, rubbish is burnt near the plantations. The smoke saves the coffee trees from frost and gives the coffee a smokey flavour. Our Guatemala coffee is perfectly balanced, full bodied, very acidy with a wonderful bouquet.

Rainforest Alliance El Salvador
El Salvador coffee had an undeservingly poor reputetion for many years, marred mostly by the inability to deliver coffee of high quality in an unstable political climate. But the democratic movements and decades of civil war have changed many things. It shows in the quality of coffee, and the availability of small lots from exceptional small farms. El Salvador always had the right ingredients... soil, altitude, climate... to produce coffee at least comparable with the Guatemalan one. This coffee labelled as 'SGH' - strictly high grown, possesses classic features of Central American coffee - full body, mild sweet taste and delicate fragrance. It is very much appreciated in France particulary.

Africa
Our coffee selection comes from Kenya and the birthplace of the Arabica tree, Ethiopa. There are many countries within Africa that grow coffee and if you were to take a global look at the world map you would soon discover that the evergreen coffee tree is grown in a narrow subtropical belt around the world. The coffee from Africa is the most distinctive in the world with a dry winy acidity with chocolate and fruit undertones. It has a rustic flavour and we enjoy the intense aromas it provides us.
Kenya AA
This washed processed coffee, comes from estates in the Nairobi region, a fruit of a fertile volcanic rock situated at 2000 metres above sea level is one of the most refined Arabica coffees in the world. This provenance produces a delightful coffee, being very aromatic, sharply acidic and fragrant, with overtones of black currant aroma and has a distinctly dry, winy and crisp aftertaste. Its sharp acidity makes it extremely popular in Britain.

Kenya Peaberry
Obtained in the mountainous estates in Kenya, may be singled out by the fact that one of its ovules never develops, so the single one, having no pressure on the side, is round and absords all the goodness of the cherry, which is responsible for its intense flavour and special liquoring. Sometimes it is called 'Chagga' after the tribe that grow it.

Ethiopia Mocha
Part full-bodied and part spicy flavourd, very aromatic with little acidity and golden in colour. Mocha coffee takes its name from the Yemeni port city called Mocha. Until just over 100 years ago, it was a small port in Yemen on the Red Sea. Some four centuries ago small quantities of this coffee with a very fine flavour, grown on the hilside surrounding the town, were exported through this port. It was the first coffee enjoyed by Europeans. Soon after, all imports from Arabia were classified as Mochas. In the 17th and early 18 centuries even coffees grown in the West Indies were marketed as Mochas. Yemen's entire tiny crop is processed by the dry method, and much of it, in fact, is permitted to dry on the tree before picking and hulling. Again, it is the dry hot air that permits this unusual but in this case, advantageous technique. This rather primitive method of producing coffee goes back centuries and accounts for the classic flavour which this wonderful coffee displays. Its worth noting that this this coffee is grown organically.

South East-Asia
Coffees from East Asia are enjoyed for their richness and full body combined with a gentle acidity. They are the largest producers of robusta beans with 10% of their crops dedicated to top grade Arabicas which are produced on Java and Sumatra.
Monsooned Malabar
Grown on the Malabar coast of India since at least the 19th century. In the days when coffee was transported by sea, during the time of shipping, the beans turned yellow and acquired a mellow taste. To reproduce that highly appreciated golden colour and taste, Indian producers carry on the treatment called 'monsooning' consisting in unwashed beans being exposed to monsoon dampness in the warehouses, than to the hot air of the monsoon winds, which circulates around the sacks of beans. The final product is part full-bodied and part spicy flavoured, very aromatic, little acidic and golden-coloured.
